We started Parivahan.co because RTO paperwork shouldn't need a translator

An independent platform built to make vehicle information and transport processes understandable — without pretending to be the government portal it's often mistaken for.

OUR STORY

Why we built this

Every driver eventually hits the same wall: a licence expires, a challan arrives, or a used vehicle purchase needs an ownership check — and the process is scattered across circulars, forum posts and word-of-mouth. We started Parivahan.co to put that information in one place, written in language a first-time vehicle owner can actually follow.

We're a small, independent team focused entirely on transport and vehicle information — not on selling agent services or filing paperwork on your behalf. Our job ends where the official portal's job begins: we get you to the right form, with the right documents, understanding what happens next.

HOW WE WORK

Principles behind every guide

ACCURACY

Sourced from official notifications

Fee structures, document lists and timelines are checked against state transport department circulars, not copied from other websites.

CLARITY

Written for first-time readers

If a guide needs a glossary to understand, we rewrite it. Technical terms are explained the first time they appear.

INDEPENDENCE

No agent commissions

We don't take a cut for routing you to a particular agent or service provider — our guides point to official channels first.

A NOTE ON OUR NAME

We are not a government website

"Parivahan" is the Hindi word for transport, and it's also the name used by the Government of India's official vehicle and licence portal at parivahan.gov.in. Parivahan.co is a separate, independently owned platform — we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways or any government body. We built this site to explain processes in plain language; every official transaction — payments, applications, appointments — should always be completed on the government's own portal or at your local RTO.
